ELLEN GRAEL is a Dutch based artist in Amsterdam. At young age Ellen started to draw and had private lessons from a bundle of artists before going to the art school Akademie Minerva in Groningen. At the age of 17 she went for the first time during a study –trip to Rome and Florence. A wonderful world full of art opened her eye that was of great influence for her artistic career. Over the years Grael had many exhibitions in abroad, Art- publications and interviews. She was running for several years her Gallery – Studio at the Prinsen Canal in Amsterdam and besides showing her own artworks organized many art shows. Ellen also gave directions to artists and creative workshops to schools. During art school Ellen created an unique style and the materials she choose were minimal: paper, washed ink and pastels she still using today. Her Pastelpaintings are a mix of Eastern and Western techniques with a special picturesque effect. Ellen is an environmental orientated artist.
